Much to the boys' surprise and delight, today's morning meditation was replaced with a drum circle led by teacher Rick, an active member of the regional Native American community. When Kunsang first heard the drumming from afar he wondered if it was a woodpecker or possibly a red-winged blackbird. Silas preferred to sit back and observe.
The drumming was followed by a welcoming prayer given by Rick. Afterward the boys ran around the woods to drive out the chill before embarking on the cutting and sewing of leather pouches.
They rounded out their day jumping joyously off of a "zombie volcano"!
